Hi! I'm Melissa Lorenzo, a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) dedicated to assisting patients and their families live their best lives, no matter what the world throws their way. After nearly nine years of giving my all to the healthcare industry, I almost walked away.

Instead, I focused all of my energy on creating my own practice. A safe place where clients can be themselves, and new technologies can give us a new perspective on treatment and coaching approaches. By building this practice, I can incorporate my ever-growing love for knowledge and my keen eye for detail to provide the most comprehensive care to my clients.

Let's take a look at my approach to help you live the life you want. 

Step 1 - Goals

We will get started by working together to figure out your goals. 

  
During therapy and coaching, I work with you directly to determine what you would like to work on and how I can help you accomplish that. 

In my courses, I will guide you in setting your own goals and following up with you during group sessions and your first 1:1 check-in. 

Step 2 - Figure out your strengths & weaknesses

Once we know what we are working towards, we dive deeper into your strengths and weaknesses. 

Then I will take that information and generate a plan to utilize your strengths to build up your weaknesses. I also start to tear apart your weaknesses to determine exactly which components are impacting each other. 

During coaching and therapy sessions, I examine all the little details to determine the correlations. 

For my courses, this means I will lead you through several inventories of skills or imaginary situations to help you determine your strengths and weaknesses
I am a firm believer in finding silver linings. Everyone has something they are good at, and we all have something to work on. On the other hand, if we don’t know why something is difficult, it’s very hard to fix.


Step 3 - Let's see what works

Once we've crafted a comprehensive plan, we'll embark on a collaborative journey, reviewing your achievements and tweaking the strategies as necessary. 

 

In therapy and coaching, I will use several types of feedback to help you understand how you are doing and what you need to keep working on. 

In my courses, I will lead you through ways to reflect on a situation or event to identify the positives and the negatives and then guide you in creating manageable plans to improve the next situation. 



Step 4 - Rinse and Repeat

At this stage, we use everything we've worked on so far:
  your comprehensive plan
  your responses to strategies and curated exercises 
  YOUR feedback
 to begin incoperating these concepts into everyday life. 

 



In therapy and coaching sessions, we may change where we work, the level of distractions, or whatever makes it difficult to use your new skills in your daily life. The more we can use the skills and help you know when to use them, the easier it will be to continue to thrive.  

In my courses, I will provide a guide to incoperate the strategies you've learned into a variety of situations. Now that you know how to reflect on you or your loved ones progress, you can use this skill to determine possible impacts from changes in situations.
